While it’s a rich instrumental-heavy journey bolstered by Armon-Jones’ exquisite work on the keys, Goya Gumbani and Asheber make guest appearances on a pair of vocal-laced highlights. The NYC-based duo, Mina Walker and Kelley Dugan, found space for introspection after returning from their first headlining tour, laying the groundwork for this playful new project.\n\nDugan and Walker met while attending NYU as acting majors. The two agreed to write a musical together for fun, and they’d meet up daily in the lobby of the Marlton Hotel sharing songs and ideas. After completing the musical they decided to start a band, and Daisy the Great was born. Since then, they have released multiple albums, EPs, and singles, organically creating their audience. Since these releases, they’ve collaborated with Claud and Illuminati Hotties on top of touring with the Kooks, the Vaccines, half alive, and playing at Lollapalooza and Firefly.\n\nhttps://www.melodicmag.com/album-reviews/daisy-the-great-unleashes-imaginative-new-album-the-rubber-teeth-talk/"

On their first album in 15 years, the band weaves dynamic arrangements with Lætitia Sadier’s otherworldly vocals, creating a kaleidoscopic avant-pop freefall. "text": "New music out of Seattle! \n\n\"Bobby Granfelt and Antoine Martel have been playing in bands together since they were 15, but it's only recently that they've really found their groove. Part of Seattle jazz fusion group High Pulp for the better part of a decade, the duo originally branched off into sunking to explore their other loves. From hip-hop to electronic music to indie rock, sunking was their time off to play whatever they wanted and so records like 2022's Smug shot off excitedly in all directions....\n\nSunking approached I DON'T LIKE MY TELEPHONE as a series of self-contained \"micro-compositions,\" inspired by hip-hop beat tapes from acts like Madlib, and built around Granfelt's drum loops and Martel's new gear. In addition to all those new synths, they were fueled by an increasing love for electronic music artists like Galcher Lustwerk, The Field, and Susumu Yokota, whose 1994 cult classic Acid Mt. Fuji they cite as a particular inspiration.\"\n\nhttps://www.anti.com/artists/sunking/"
