He defended it in a 1983 interview: “Just let me be cynical for a moment. First of all, it’s really not about waiting on a woman friend. It’s just about a friend; it doesn’t matter if it’s a man or a woman. I can see people saying, ‘Oh, we’re all much older now, Mick’s writing this much more compassionate stuff, must be about a real person. But that’s only in their perception of it.”\nhttps://americansongwriter.com/the-meaning-behind-waiting-on-a-friend-by-the-rolling-stones-and-why-it-took-almost-a-decade-to-complete/"

Theodore \"Sonny\" Rollins was such a man: A saxophonist revered for his huge tone and seemingly inexhaustible improvisations. Rollins died Monday afternoon at his Woodstock, N.Y. home at the age of 95.\n\nRollins was a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master, a recipient of a Kennedy Center honor and a recipient of the National Medal of the Arts. And he was the very incarnation of a modern jazz musician. His art was his life.\n\n\"All these prizes are nice, I appreciate them,\" he told NPR in 2007. \"I don't go crazy about them — you have to do your work whether you're recognized or not. The real deal is doing it the best you can do it and that's it. That's its own reward.\"\n\nRead more here: https://tinyurl.com/4mvz4t8p"

"text": "The latest offering from Swedish artist Lykke Li is an excellent mini-album of anthemic pop songs that glides through her distinctive, elegant, sophisticated blend of dance, soul, synth-pop, dream-pop, and art-pop. Billed as “a dance record for the end of the world, and a radical new grammar of honesty in pop,” The Afterparty was written in Los Angeles and recorded in Stockholm with a 17-piece string orchestra which lends a sweeping cinematic scope to Lykke Li’s magnetic pop presence. –Alex Ruder, KEXP (https://www.kexp.org/read/2026/5/11/new-music-reviews-511/)\n\nhttps://lykkeli.com/"
