Jal eventually found refuge in Kenya, where he discovered hip-hop’s potential as a political and spiritual tool. Singing of his experiences in Sudan, Jal would go on to produce his multilingual debut album, Gua, a mix of rap in Arabic, English, Swahili, Dinka and Nuer. The popularity of his title track “Gua” received recognition in Kenya and Jal went on to record his 2005 album, Ceasefire, which garnered critical acclaim.","location":1,"location_name":"Default","play_type":"trackplay"}
