We learn about Toto’s family, his best friend who encourages his love for filmmaking, small town life, and of course young love.\n\nThe music of the film was scored by a true Maestro named Ennio Morricone. This was my first encounter with the Maestro, and for the first time in my life I completely understood and felt the power of music in films. Morricone’s song, Love Theme, perfectly encompasses the delicate and bittersweet qualities of childhood,\"",

"comment": "It was originally written in 1941 by folk legend Woody Guthrie, but its roots date even further back to around 1927 when the song began life as a banjo tune called Pretty Polly. The song is actually a murder ballad, and tells the story of a young woman lured into the forest where she is killed and buried in a shallow grave. \n--\nIn 1962, American folk singer and part time actor Peter Tevis recorded a version of Woody Guthrie's \"Pastures of Plenty'' that was arranged by Ennio Morricone. A couple of years later, during a meeting between Morricone and film director Sergio Leone over the music for his forthcoming film, Morricone played a recording of Tevis's Pastures of Plenty. Leone loved the quirky nature of the music, but didn’t take a liking to the vocals. Subsequently, the vocals were dropped and the music became the opening title \"Titoli\" for A Fistful of Dollars (1964).",

"comment": "Gli Intoccabili [Machine Gun McCain] is an Italian crime film directed by Giuliano Montaldo, with whom Morricone previously worked on Ad Ogni Costo in 1967. It stars John Cassavetes, Britt Ekland, Peter Falk, and Gabriele Ferzetti and tells the story of the titular McCain, a paroled gangster who plans to rob a Las Vegas casino with the help of his son. \n--\nThe main thematic idea in the score is an original song, “La Ballata di Hank McCain,” written by Morricone and Audrey Nohra, and sung in English by Jackie Lynton. It’s a dramatic, punchy, hilariously serious song sung with impressive an earnestness that verges on the ludicrous. Morricone had a wonderful knack for writing great music that ultimately gets turned into something ridiculously over-the-top in song form.
