Formed in 2019, the band's two members perform under the pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine (guitar, bass, and microtonal instruments) and Klek de Poitrine (drums).\n\nThe duo have been performing together since they were teenagers. They first performed as Angine de Poitrine in 2019, but didn't begin performing consistently as the group until 2023.\n\nTheir costumes and on-stage personas were initially created as a \"joke,\" with the band being named after the medical condition angina pectoris. Having been told they could not perform in back-to-back weeks at the same venue, they did one show as themselves and one disguised in costume.\n\nhttps://anginedepoitrine.com/\n\nAs the band has evolved, the members have remained anonymous, which is their preference. The band plays experimental rock and microtonal math rock using nonstandard tuning systems, complex rhythms, and largely instrumental compositions that they combine with performance art.\n\nTheir live performances feature the musicians performing in oversized papier-mâché masks alongside stylized costumes and staging. Khn de Poitrine plays a custom-built, double-necked instrument consisting of a microtonal guitar and bass. https://tinyurl.com/5n85dwe8", "location": 1, "location_name": "Default", "play_type": "trackplay" }, { "id": 3629713, "uri": "https://api.kexp.org/v2/plays/3629713/?format=api", "airdate": "2026-03-16T10:46:08-07:00", "show": 66198, "show_uri": "https://api.kexp.org/v2/shows/66198/?format=api", "image_uri": "https://dn710604.ca.archive.org/0/items/mbid-4333ef41-d85c-4098-a790-c3e7401c8406/mbid-4333ef41-d85c-4098-a790-c3e7401c8406-18392423354_thumb500.jpg", "thumbnail_uri": "https://dn710604.ca.archive.org/0/items/mbid-4333ef41-d85c-4098-a790-c3e7401c8406/mbid-4333ef41-d85c-4098-a790-c3e7401c8406-18392423354_thumb250.jpg", "song": "Polygondwanaland", "track_id": "44fa7a9f-c6b8-482e-8ab8-e94aec299287", "recording_id": "d63918d7-a82a-4dc5-872b-8aac56dd5157", "artist": "King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard", "artist_ids": [ "f58384a4-2ad2-4f24-89c5-c7b74ae1cce7" ], "album": "Polygondwanaland", "release_id": "4333ef41-d85c-4098-a790-c3e7401c8406", "release_group_id": "df1f3af0-6004-44d3-9a32-12913fdc357c", "labels": [], "label_ids": [], "release_date": "2017-11-17", "rotation_status": null, "is_local": false, "is_request": false, "is_live": false, "comment": "King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have stopped by KEXP many times!
