She would like to hear “Last Lion of Albion” by Neko Case.\" - Kelly in Seattle \n---\n\n\nNeko Case said about this song: 'It's about how gross it is that so many nations or organizations find some sort of glory in having made something extinct that made the nation so great. I was in England; I was looking at lions that were on some crests and I was imagining myself or what I would to say to the last lion of Albion. I had a fantasy that all these billionaires would buy Mars or move there, and when they got there, because they were going to colonize it, there would be an army of lions waiting to devour them.\"\n--\nIn 2018, Neko Case shared a stop-motion video for this song.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT_ObjcZYbs",

I discovered it on KEXP like so many other great tunes, if you guys could play it that'd be awesome!\"\n---\n\nBased out of Pamplona, Spain, Melenas are evoking a refreshed, revamped, and revelatory take on dream pop. Supposedly they started out work on their new album Ahora with a basic premise: “can you make jangle pop and garage rock with synthesizers?” The answer is apparently yes. The song “Bang” is effervescent, yet propulsive. A delicate balance of restraint with booming synthesizer whirls propelling their soft, entrancing melodies forward. Evoking Stereolab and Kraftwerk, the band find themselves in good company with this exciting direction.\n\nMelenas performed Live on KEXP from Mexico City last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRyQQepLnOM\n\nhttps://melenas.bandcamp.com/",

From, Sam\n---\n\nColombian artist Ela Minus is trying to bring the human touch to a largely electronic music scene.\n\n\"I actually studied coding for a long time,\" Minus told Morning Edition host A Martinez. \"I started getting very, very used to the sound of laptops. So I was just looking for a different sound, and I found hardware synthesizers, meaning there's an actual instrument — separate from a computer — that has piano keys.\"\n\nMinus — whose real name is Gabriela Jimeno Caldas — says she's been pressured to give up the bulky, analog synthesizers. \"If I'm completely honest, it's mostly come from male engineers that are, like, 'Why are you carrying all of this around? You [should] just get a laptop.' My question is always: Why?\" she said. \"The answer has never been convincing enough.\"\nEnjoy this NPR feature on the artist: https://www.npr.org/2025/01/30/nx-s1-5213901/ela-minus-dia-album-colombia",

I became an amplifier in 2025 because KEXP gets me, like so many others, through my daily life. Both good days and bad. Public radio is so important and I’m truly proud to contribute to KEXP for years to come. Many thanks to you and all the other wonderful DJs and producers who give us a voice, heal us with the power of music, and keep this platform alive. You’re all amazing and I love each and every member of this community! \n\nI would be so incredibly happy to hear Mr. Wendal by Arrested Development today. This song always makes my heart happy and I hope it makes someone else’s heart happy, too.\"",
