And then afterwards, we went to a bar down the road, and just that kind of like ecstatic safe space feeling just completely dissolved as soon as we, like, set foot in this bar. So it was after that.\"",

It stuck with me for a while as I couldn’t quite shake it off. I think about the term ‘straight men’ and the feelings that arise, and how we really need to do better to achieve a shift in culture and change the universal experience that too many people face each day. If you sit by while your friend is being intimidating and outright inappropriate, you’re complicit in their behaviour. Call it out.”\nhttps://alcopop.bandcamp.com/album/straight-men\n\nMusic video (warning: flashing lights): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afwpGbPxDGA",

Hopping, skipping and jumping across a flamboyant network of slumping bass lines (a tribute to Death from Above 1979), metallic guitar licks, glinting keyboards, and a lyric that took a filename from a voicenote demo, and then went hell for leather on peevish metaphors for “social life from an old folks home” – ‘Bingo’ is witty, restless and beaming with intent.",

"comment": "New music! Actors (stylized as ACTORS) are a Canadian post-punk band from Vancouver, British Columbia, formed in 2012.\n\nThe band consists of founder Jason Corbett (vocals and guitar), Shannon Hemmett (keyboards and backing vocals), Kendall Wooding (bass and backing vocals), and Adam Fink (drums). Their debut album, It Will Come To You, was released in 2018, followed by their second album, Acts of Worship, in 2021.\n\nWhen asked about his varied genre musical background and the influence those bands had on his trajectory towards creating Actors, Corbett told online blog Alienated in Vancouver in 2021, \"I had exhausted myself chasing what I thought would be 'success.'\n\n\"'I started writing and producing music based on what I was really feeling and wanted to explore. That was the beginning of ACTORS. The music from my childhood just bubbled up to the surface. Roxy Music, Gary Numan, David Bowie, and Duran Duran all somehow influenced me on a subconscious level. At the end of the day though there's so many influences from over the years.\" https://actors.bandcamp.com/music",
