"comment": "This song is about cocaine addiction. The album Psychocandy makes several references to cocaine, including the name of the album itself (\"candy\" being slang for cocaine). The line, \"walking back to you is the hardest thing that I could do\" implies addiction.\n\nAs the leadoff track and third single off Jesus and Mary Chain's debut album, Psychocandy, this song was the band's first big hit, peaking at #45 on the British charts, and was on their setlist when the band first performed on the televised UK music show The Tube in 1985.\n\nThe drum intro is quite famous; it was borrowed from \"Be My Baby,\" a 1963 hit by The Ronettes. The intro was originally played by Hal Blaine. https://tinyurl.com/yytjewvc",

"comment": "Austra will be at The Independent in SF on Saturday, January 24th, and The Crocodile in Seattle on Tuesday, January 27th! \n\nKatie Stelmanis, aka Austra shares, \"In the early days of the pandemic, Toronto was in lockdown more than any other city. In the depths of winter, that meant there were months at a time where none of us were able to see our friends. There were no outside walks, because it was too cold.\n\n\"I had a bubble with my new partner who was raised in rural France and who knew about all this Eurodance that had never really made it to Canada. Every weekend we’d get together and amid the cold and dark we’d blast Eurodance in my apartment and dance.\n\n\"It was the best antidote to the world we were living in, and those songs offered us a healthy hit of endorphins to combat the dark isolation. I wanted this feeling of euphoria to exist on my record, and here it is in the form of 'Hopefulness of Dawn.'\" https://tinyurl.com/5ae9pjdd\n\nCheck out this gorgeous in-studio session Live here at KEXP back in 2017! https://tinyurl.com/2aru7mxb",

His mother soon married Peter Mueller. Vedder was raised believing that Mueller was his biological father, and he went by the name Edward Mueller for a time.\n\nWhile living in Evanston, Vedder's family fostered seven younger children in a group home.[10] In the mid-1970s, the family, including Vedder's three younger half-brothers, moved to San Diego County, California. Vedder received a guitar from his mother on his 12th birthday, and began turning to music and surfing as a source of comfort. He especially found solace in The Who's 1973 album, Quadrophenia. He said, \"When I was around 15 or 16... I was all alone—except for music.\" His mother and Mueller divorced when Vedder was in his late teens. His mother and brothers moved back to the Chicago area, but Vedder remained with his stepfather in California so he did not have to change schools. https://tinyurl.com/9xeyz6jf",
