"comment": "The Puerto Rican flag draped across the Statue of Liberty’s crown was not just a powerful visual in Bad Bunny’s “NUEVAYoL” music video: it was a deliberate act of reclamation, resonant with decades of anti-colonial struggle. The song was released on January 5, 2025 as the opening track of the album Debí Tirar Más Fotos; the music video followed on July 4, 2025. \n\nWith its accompanying visuals, “NUEVAYoL” transformed Independence Day from a celebration of American “freedom” into a confrontation with colonial reality, centering the experiences of Puerto Ricans and the broader Latinx diaspora who exist in the shadows of that supposed liberty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU5V5WZVcVE\n\nLearn more here: https://convergencemag.com/articles/bad-bunny-nuevayol-decolonial-pop-culture/",

The record is an odyssey of betrayal and heartbreak, an investigation of the way we perceive ourselves and the people we wake up next to every morning, and a litmus test for how honest we’re allowed to be in art and life. As a result, her record stands as a marker on the musical landscape where storytelling is laid out in its barest and sharpest form. Impressively, she has found an audience that’s ready to listen.",

He met Toumani Diabaté, heir to an ancestral line of Malian griots (the 71st generation) and master of the kora, the traditional 21-string instrument. An artistic and spiritual complicity was born and, under Toumaniʼs impulse, inspired a joint project. \n\nTogether, they enjoyed great success and lots of listening fans -- but in the summer of 2024, 8 months after the start of production on the new album, Toumani Diabaté died suddenly. This album was finished in his honor with a big group of collaborators and friends, opening doors for other artists and musicians in his memory.",
