Like many of his Italian colleagues at that time, he composed the scores for many exploitation films in the 1960s and 1970s, in genres such as Spaghetti Westerns, Eurospy, Giallo, and softcore sex films.\n\nUmiliani's other scores included Son of Django, Orgasmo, Gangster's Law, Death Knocks Twice, Five Dolls for an August Moon,[1] Baba Yaga, The Slave and Sex Pot. His orchestra score \"Arrivano I Marines\" for War Italian Style, a 1966 comedy about two USMC soldiers in Italy, is used in the Armored Trooper Votoms series as \"March of the Red Shoulders\".\n\nHis composition \"Crepuscolo Sul Mare\" was used in Ocean's Twelve. More recently, his composition Echi Della Natura featured on the soundtrack of Ashim Ahluwalia’s 2012 film Miss Lovely.\n\nOutside of his film score work, Umiliani formed the rock band Braen's Machine with Alessandro Alessandroni. https://tinyurl.com/54bpyjj9",

It just clicked - you know: you're being too stubborn, don't be so silly, there is love everywhere. The feeling, the emotion of the song was like completely melting and loving everything and feeling like everything loved you, after a long time of not having that.\n\n\"The song, in essence, is actually about believing in love. Love isn't just about two persons, it's everywhere around you.\"",

"comment": "Choke Enough (stylised in all lowercase) is the debut studio album by French musician, singer and producer Oklou. It released on 7 February 2025, via True Panther Sounds. The album features guest appearances by Swedish rapper and singer Bladee, and American musician Underscores. \n\nSimilarly to her 2020 mixtape Galore, Choke Enough was made primarily in collaboration with Canadian musician Casey MQ. The album took Oklou two and a half years to finish, and explores \"the quest of meaning.\"\n\nOklou confides, \"Choke Enough is a very intense album for me. It's filled with directions, tentatives and irregularities, reflecting on my last years on this planet as my heart and conscience has really decentered from myself.\"\n\nThe album was primarily recorded in Paris, Los Angeles, and Cap Ferret. https://tinyurl.com/4ubf7anm",

In the 33-minute album, Celeste shows a side we haven’t seen before. Despite spanning only nine tracks, the album feels complete, a full arc from despair to declaration.\n\nIn its brevity lies potency: an emotional journey which navigates heartbreak, self-discovery and resilience. "comment": "Released on this day in 1979!\n\nLondon Calling was a double album, but it wasn't supposed to be.\n\nThe band were angry that CBS had priced their previous EP, The Cost of Living at £1.49, and so in the interests of their fans they insisted that London Calling be a double LP.\n\nCBS refused, so the band tried a different tactic: how about a free single on a one-disc LP? CBS agreed, but didn't notice that this free single disc would play at 33rpm and contain eight songs - therefore making it up to a double album!\n\nIt then became nine when \"Train in Vain\" was tacked on to the end of the album after an NME single release fell through. \"Train\" arrived so late on that it isn't on the tracklisting on the album sleeve, and the only evidence of its existence is a stamp on the run-out groove and its presence on the end of side four.\n\nIn the end, London Calling was a 19-song double-LP retailing for the price of a single! https://tinyurl.com/55a9jka9",

"comment": "Released yesterday in 1994!!! \n\nEddie Vedder doesn't often go into detail about his songs, but with this one, he had a lot to get off his chest, especially after Time magazine put him on the cover without his consent under the headline, \"All The Rage.\"\n\nPearl Jam was blindingly famous by 1994, which drew many unwelcome industry types into their ambit. This song is lead singer Eddie Vedder's reaction, letting these folks know that Pearl Jam is not for them.\n\nVedder reveals, \"It's not that we want to take credit. That's fine. I don't care. I don't want credit, it's not like I'm trying to claim that. But when they start acting like they own you that they are the reason... that's something that's not true. These attitudes out there that the music is theirs that it's the industry's music, and it's not. It's mine. And it's yours. Whoever's listening to it. It's mine and it's yours. And everybody in between, they're the distributors. I think that something like a music channel can be very powerful. Sometimes they think they're the ones who decide what's heard. I think that's a dangerous situation. And, I think, what's more dangerous is that thy think it belongs to them. That's probably what 'Not For You is about.'\n\n\"I get pissed off if I see someone's picture everywhere: on the cover of this, on the back of that, in ads, in sound bites on TV. I start to hate that person, whether I've heard their music or not. And so I've really tried to hold back from doing that stuff. I think that's what pissed me off about Time magazine, when I didn't have to agree to be on their cover in order for them to put me on it. I felt like, f--k, I'm gonna be that guy I hate whether I want to or not. And pretty soon, I'm gonna be an icon that can just be joked about. I'm too sensitive to that kind of stuff. I did my best to hold us back from becoming that, at least after witnessing what happened on the first record. I thought for the second record we were pretty mellow. We took ourselves off TV. But I still feel like we're that band that everybody hates.\"",

(Bjarni Þór Jensson, who contributes guitar to the track, also provided the mixing.)\n\nHowever, in very early January this year, Hjálmtýsson was struck by tragedy when one of his best friends and fellow musicians, passed away unexpectedly.\n\nThe loss struck Hjálmtýsson hard and upon retreating to his basement, an amended melody and lyrics came to him amongst the grief and shock, informed by the type of pain which accompanies that type of sudden loss.",

"comment": "In You Are The Morning, jasmine.4.t delivers a debut that feels as intimate as it does expansive, blending raw storytelling with lush, collaborative arrangements. Across the album’s thirteen tracks, the trans singer-songwriter weaves deeply personal narratives that span themes of self-discovery, love, rejection, and resilience—all carried by her evocative voice and backed up by composition that can’t be tied to one genre.\n\nProduced by Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker of boygenius, You Are The Morning carries the emotional depth and organic spontaneity that the trio’s own music is known for. Jasmine’s all- trans band—featuring Phoenix Rousiamanis on piano and strings, Eden O’Brien on drums, and Emily Abbott on bass—brings a cohesive yet adventurous energy to the arrangements. https://tinyurl.com/ehae93sb",

"comment": "Kevin's favourite album of 2025!\n\nJacob Alon is a Scottish singer-songwriter born and raised by a young single mother in the quiet suburbs of Fife.\n\nAlon began writing songs in school as a way of making friends laugh, but never considered a career in music possible until much later. While studying medicine at university, Jacob found themself deeply confused and unhappy, only finding joy when making music. To the disapproval of their family, they decided to drop out and pursue their true dream full-time.\n\nNow based in Edinburgh, Jacob’s story is one of estrangement, homelessness, but ultimately, perseverance. Alon crashed with super producer Dan Carey while working on new music, of which an overarching theme will be limerence: the state of intense romantic longing for someone who often does not reciprocate. Those who have experienced limerence will know it can lead to obsessive thoughts – an infatuation that overlooks any flaws or, indeed, turns those flaws into an attractive trait. https://tinyurl.com/yrstpr4n",
