"comment": "The third solo album from Beirut-based singer, songwriter, and producer Yasmine Hamdan [yahz-MEEN ham-DAHN].\n\nYasmine Hamdan's I Remember I Forget follows the internationally acclaimed 2013 solo debut Ya Nass (Hey People) and 2017’s Al Jamilat (The Beautiful Ones). \n\n“For this record, I needed to ground myself in a specific place – and it had to be Lebanon,” explains Hamdan. “My connection to Lebanon, and what has happened to it, constituted the grounds from where I started writing and composing the album. However, gradually in the creative process, this place became a symbol, a metaphor, a catharsis for what is happening globally, and being experienced universally.\n\n\"Despite the pain and charged emotions I felt at witnessing what was happening to my birthplace, these feelings were surmounted by a sense of tenderness and familiarity that induced hope and inspiration. By all means, Beirut kept being generous to me,\" she recalls. https://tinyurl.com/5trt2z35",

The pair recorded the band's debut album, yep definitely (2018), as a duo.\n\nThe band expanded to a five-piece with the addition of Miller, Chelmis and bass guitarist Margo Schultz. The band's second studio album, I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone, was released in 2020 to positive reviews, followed by Twin Plagues in 2021, which was the band's first album to feature Lenderman as a full contributing member.\nhttps://tinyurl.com/yc28r48k\n--\nCatch Wednesday on the west coast at these dates and more: \n- Oakland on Saturday, October 18th at the Fox Theater \n- Seattle on Thursday, April 23rd, 2026, at the Moore Theatre https://www.wednesday.band/tourdatez \n--\nCheck out their 2022 Live on KEXP performance, hosted by Larry Mizell, Jr. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0o-hF9s0ro",

"comment": "In the 1990s and early 2000s, legendary musician Johnny Cash recorded a series of American-themed cover albums. With most of the tracks' arrangements consisting of Cash, his guitar, and a few studio musicians, these albums were somewhat of a departure from the Tennessee Three's (Cash's band) sound that was pioneered in the 1950s and 1960s. Even so, several hits arose from these albums, piling on top of the Man in Black's expansive, iconic catalog.\n\n'American II: Unchained', released in 1996, is the second album in the aforementioned series. The final track on this album, titled \"I've Been Everywhere,\" is a cover of Hank Snow's 1962 version of the song. (The original writer, Geoff Mack, was Australian, so the lyrics had to be adapted for North America.) Beginning with a spoken introduction, Cash jumps into the rhythmic line, \"I have traveled every road in this here land,\" as the band comes in and the song gets going. \n\nhttps://www.bloommilitaryteens.org/post/i-ve-been-everywhere-man",

"comment": "\"Going Underground\" is the first British #1 chart single by The Jam.\n--\nReleased on 10 March 1980, Going Underground was a call to arms to those sick of then Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s mission to secure more nuclear weapons at the expense of little things like the National Health Service. ‘You’ll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns,’ warned Paul Weller of a scenario that, thanks to HHS in crisis and later military campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan, continued to be relevant. \n\n“It was borne out of the political state we were in at the time,” Weller told Total Guitar today of the atmosphere that triggered the writing of Going Underground. “Whether it was youthful paranoia or whatever, I thought we were on the brink of devastation really. We were building up our nuclear missiles, especially in this country.”\n\nhttps://www.musicradar.com/news/the-jam-paul-weller-going-underground-interview",

The American artist has chalked up a slew of production credits under her given name Melina Duterte, but the real prize is a new studio album.
