"comment": "Playing:\n- TONIGHT, Monday, September 8th at Burnaby, BC's Deer Lake Park\n- Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA this Friday, September 12th!\n\nThe song was first performed live on February 21, 1989, in Seattle with The Restless, without the band having rehearsed it.\n\nNeil Young wrote the song while on tour with his band The Restless in February 1989. He learned that a planned concert tour to the Soviet Union was not going to happen and his guitarist Frank \"Poncho\" Sampedro said \"we'll have to keep on rockin' in the free world.\" The phrase struck Young, who thought it could be the hook in a song about \"stuff going on with the Ayatollah and all this turmoil in the world.” He had the lyrics the next day.\n\nThe lyrics criticize the George H. W. Bush administration, then in its first month, quoting Bush's famous \"thousand points of light\" remark from his 1989 inaugural address and his 1988 presidential campaign promise for America to become a \"kinder, gentler nation.\" The song also refers to Ayatollah Khomeini's proclamation that the United States was the \"Great Satan\" and Jesse Jackson's 1988 campaign slogan, \"Keep hope alive.\" https://tinyurl.com/5ed9epmn\n\nhttps://neilyoungarchives.com/",

I don't think anything is a radical departure, but there are things that I wanted to talk about. I was influenced a lot [by] getting old, and attempting to age gracefully. "comment": "Black Pumas co-founder Adrian Quesada is going it alone once more, sculpting the follow-up to his lauded LP Boleros Psicodélicos. Continuing his homage to Latin sounds of the late 60s and early 70s, incoming (and aptly titled) Boleros Psicodélicos promises to be a fascinating listen. \"No Juego\" is a wonderful example of world-building, with the immersive arrangement lifting guest vocalist Angélica Garcia to a heavenly plane. \"Adrian is very precise in his attention to detail. His records have a warmth to them that I love,\" says Angélica Garcia. \"'No Juego' is such a dramatic and theatrical song. I’m grateful that Adrian protected the intensity of the song, and I’m glad that he didn’t ask me to tone it down. Sometimes you gotta be direct and talk your sh*t.\" https://tinyurl.com/4chpb262 https://adrianquesada.bandcamp.com/album/boleros-psicod-licos-ii\n\nhttps://www.adrianquesada.net/",

"comment": "New Curtis Harding!\n\n\"One of the most visionary artists in soul music today, Curtis Harding is proof of the strange magic that happens when musical prowess meets unbridled imagination. In the making of his fourth full-length, the Atlanta-based singer/songwriter dreamed up a batch of songs exploring the longing and unease of being far from home—a true-to-life reflection he soon expanded into an elaborate concept album about a pilot lost in space. The latest addition to an acclaimed catalog including his 2017 breakthrough Face Your Fear (co-produced by Danger Mouse), Departures & Arrivals: Adventures of Captain Curt merges the lavish scope of a space opera with the pure feeling of classic soul—ultimately bringing an even greater potency to his wildly eclectic sound.\" https://www.anti.com/artists/curtis-harding/\n\nhttps://curtisharding.com/",
