I couldn't sleep because of all the steroids so I started watching \"Tales from the loop\" late at night. The song \"on the dark end of the street\" by James Carr was in one episode. I became obsessed with the song. There were times when the only way to easy my pain was to belt it out at the top of my lungs while rocking my new baby. Although the song has nothing to do with cancer, it really helped me express my pain, in the only way I could. Being on chemo during a pandemic is such a scary and isolating time, especially with a newborn. She loved music and was a big country fan for most of her life. She is a big reason why I have such an eclectic taste in music and she always had music playing in the kitchen, in the car and wherever she was. She was the life of the party to all who knew her and extra feisty after her diagnosis. While it's incredibly hard dealing with the loss of such an important person in my life, music has been there for me to connect with all the happy memories and the sad ones.
