Seriously, listening to it over and over as I waited for all my appointments helped so much. Supporting KEXP and feeling part of a community of caring, kind, and loving people really does make a huge impact in our ability to face hardships, no matter what they are, again thank you so much (I think someone said it is like having a bullet proof vest for our soul). I went in to my neuro-oncology appointment and told her I feel so much stronger and resilient then I have ever been in the last ten years and I really feel it is because of the KEXP community.\n\nHealth updates: MRIs all clear! Definitely, still brain cancer free! Unfortunately, I found another lump this week (after another cancer-scare over the summer) and yesterday I was referred to Abramson Cancer Center at U. of Penn for an oncology consult. Again, I am sure the lump is benign, but I won't know for sure until my consultation on November 14. I know in my heart taking care of my mental health during this time is so important: so, I went running again today and listened to the Runcast! Thank you KEXP for being there for me. Keeping KEXP alive and well is of special importance for me and I am a proud Amplifier! \n\nI am not alone and music heals!\n---\nOn this date in 1966, Simon & Garfunkel released \"Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.\" featuring \"Scarborough Fair/Canticle\", \"Homeward Bound,\" and \"The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy).\"","location":1,"location_name":"Default","play_type":"trackplay"},{"id":3569270,"uri":"https://api.kexp.org/v2/plays/3569270/?format=json","airdate":"2025-10-24T07:47:01-07:00","show":64918,"show_uri":"https://api.kexp.org/v2/shows/64918/?format=json","image_uri":"","thumbnail_uri":"","comment":"Get more information about SMooCh here: https://www.kexp.org/events/kexp-events/smooch-2025/","location":1,"location_name":"Default","play_type":"airbreak"},{"id":3569269,"uri":"https://api.kexp.org/v2/plays/3569269/?format=json","airdate":"2025-10-24T07:44:35-07:00","show":64918,"show_uri":"https://api.kexp.org/v2/shows/64918/?format=json","image_uri":"https://dn710000.ca.archive.org/0/items/mbid-31eb0922-5c4a-4aa9-bdb9-428b4008a3b9/mbid-31eb0922-5c4a-4aa9-bdb9-428b4008a3b9-34480605306_thumb500.jpg","thumbnail_uri":"https://dn710000.ca.archive.org/0/items/mbid-31eb0922-5c4a-4aa9-bdb9-428b4008a3b9/mbid-31eb0922-5c4a-4aa9-bdb9-428b4008a3b9-34480605306_thumb250.jpg","song":"Just Like Honey","track_id":"e4de7525-cf65-3dee-b766-6fa3bd0b90d5","recording_id":"ec22ad2c-e2c5-4d73-9cee-a5091950128c","artist":"The Jesus and Mary Chain","artist_ids":["e938a15c-b17e-4e7a-9f68-ff0d536cab44"],"album":"Psychocandy","release_id":"31eb0922-5c4a-4aa9-bdb9-428b4008a3b9","release_group_id":"7534461f-d5ed-3ab0-b5a8-48d7f9b49c70","labels":["Reprise Records"],"label_ids":["af6d6f49-2b4d-40fe-86d4-241906772b59"],"release_date":"1985-11-01","rotation_status":null,"is_local":false,"is_request":false,"is_live":false,"comment":"Speaking of Scottish bands...\nHere's the official music video for \"Just Like Honey\": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EgB__YratE\n--\nThe drum intro is quite famous; it was borrowed from \"Be My Baby,\" a 1963 hit by The Ronettes.","location":1,"location_name":"Default","play_type":"trackplay"},{"id":3569268,"uri":"https://api.kexp.org/v2/plays/3569268/?format=json","airdate":"2025-10-24T07:41:22-07:00","show":64918,"show_uri":"https://api.kexp.org/v2/shows/64918/?format=json","image_uri":"https://coverartarchive.org/release/5934559f-9726-48b0-bb56-57e4bc82041f/8693792493-500.jpg","thumbnail_uri":"https://coverartarchive.org/release/5934559f-9726-48b0-bb56-57e4bc82041f/8693792493-250.jpg","song":"In the Gold Dust Rush","track_id":null,"recording_id":"25ef3a3c-a128-4a24-9a60-59a7ce734781","artist":"Cocteau Twins","artist_ids":["000fc734-b7e1-4a01-92d1-f544261b43f5"],"album":"Head Over Heels","release_id":null,"release_group_id":"91962b6e-34d3-4d3e-87fa-f30c3344a19b","labels":["4AD"],"label_ids":["a539bb1e-f2e1-4b45-9db8-8053841e7503"],"release_date":"1983-10-24","rotation_status":null,"is_local":false,"is_request":false,"is_live":false,"comment":"On October 24, 1983, Cocteau Twins released \"Head Over Heels,\" their second studio album.
