While the world melted down around her, she broke out the flour and chocolate and baked her heart out. You name it, every permutation of chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls, sourdough, old school biscuits, new school flaky treats, cakes, pies, high brow experiments, low brow hits (with coconut), obscure delights from far away, and the most famous classics from our own family's traditions. \n\nKEXP was playing in the background for all of this. \n\nShe baked for fun, for joy, for exploration, for her own mental health, for friends and family, to navigate COVID and the social and political unrest, and to cope during a time we weren't sure she would make it through. \n\nShe did. She kicked cancers ass, and did it with style, grit, laughter, music, flour and 13 metric tons of butter. \n\nShe's still doing it today.
