"comment": "One day, all my T-shirts were dirty. Fortunately, there was a KEXP pledge drive on!\n\nSeriously though, I chose to donate to KEXP monthly because it helps me start my day on a good foot. I used to listen to the news in the morning. After last November, I realized I needed music more than ever. I grew up here and have listened since the KCMU days. I have taken this station for granted over the years. Switching my morning routine gave me a renewed appreciation for KEXP.\n\n-Kevin in Capitol Hill who always requests IDLES songs\n\n----------------------------------\n\nMy wife and I donated to KEXP for years, then became Amplifiers in 2018. At the start, it was because of how KEXP opened us up to music we may never have come across. Over the past 7 years, it's become more about supporting the community and the message of strength, care, and support that permeates everything that KEXP does.\n\n2018 was also when we caught the in-studio sessions with Fontaine's D.C. and IDLES. We'll always laugh remembering John Richards' reaction when IDLES finished \"Never Fight A Man With A Perm\". It'd be great to hear that or Fontaine's \"Chequeless Reckless\" again on the Morning Show.\n\nIt's not just the music that KEXP brings us, it's the human moments: From live performances and events to Music Heals days and messages of support from the DJs and staff. We love KEXP for everything you do.\n\n-- Suz & Dan in Long Beach, WA\n\n----------------------------------\n\nI love this! Every Friday I share the \"Friday Featured Musical Artist\" with my eighth graders. I've played The Linda Lindas, Turnstile, Avalanches, Jan and Dean, The Temptations, etc. I tell my students, \"You might not like everything you hear, and that's okay.\" I am teaching the KEXP philosophy early to my pre-teen students.\n\nI would love to hear the song that KEXP played that hooked me to both the station and the band:\nIDLES, \"Colossus.\"\n\nHeidi in San Diego",
