He was 43 years young. He was a good husband, a good father, a good friend, a good man. His name is Nick. I was by his side as he took his last breath and I felt a huge chasm in the world at the very moment his last exhale of carbon dioxide left his mouth. His name is Nick and his death shook society in a way I've not yet witnessed in my 44 years. He wasn’t supposed to get cancer. And when he did, he was supposed to fight it and beat it and come out with a big grin and a wink like the hero of every movie. This was a film that ended in the saddest of ways. I didn’t want to star in this film. Our hearts broke. But, where the real beauty filled in the cracks of that great gorge was witnessing all the people…the friends, family, strangers…scramble like small ants who just had their ant hill destroyed by a flood of water. They scrambled to put back together the pieces that were scattered; to make right all that went wrong. They carried us to safety (me and my three kids) and that was the most miraculous witness of God and goodness I’d ever seen. Strangely, he died of lung cancer having never smoked a day in his life. He loved Eddie Vedder and sometimes I think \"Just Breathe\" was written for Nick. It's the most appropriate song for our soundtrack of life; in a movie I wouldn't have written. Nick, we love you and we miss you. Until we meet again, for the true finale of life’s film. Memento Mori.", "location": 1, "location_name": "Default", "play_type": "trackplay" }
