"comment": "New Order came up with the rhythm of this song when they were experimenting with a new Oberheim DMX drum machine. Peter Hook explained: \"Bernard [Sumner] and Stephen [Morris] were the instigators. It was their enthusiasm for new technology. The drum pattern was ripped off from a Donna Summer B-side.\" (The song also samples Kraftwerk's \"Uranium.\").\n--\nPeter Hook said that he got the bass riff from \"La resi de conti\" by Ennio Morricone. \n\nAfter Morricone's death, Hook took to social media to pen his tribute to the one-of-a-kind composer: “I remember well being blown away by Ennio Morricone’s music on so many films. We would then spend hours trying to get that guitar sound – on Elegia & Sunrise specifically – and of course, he was the inspiration for the Blue Monday bassline. Thank you Ennio & rest in peace.”",
