The lyrics of this song reference J.G. Ballard's 1973 controversial novel \"Crash\".\n\nThe song was recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas. Compass Point was founded in 1977 by Chris Blackwell, also founder of Island Records. In 1962, Blackwell lived in England in a property managed by Lee Gopthal, who would later create Trojan Records with Blackwell in 1967.",
