Each week a different teen DJ in our current 90.TEEN cohort plays an hour-long set of music. \n\nThis past Saturday’s 90.TEEN DJ was DJ Phoenix! DJ Phoenix is a Tacoma based singer and songwriter, whose passion for music extends across vast genres and eras in music history. Phoenix believes that music is a powerful tool for connection amongst people from varied backgrounds, and curating playlists is one of Phoenix’s strongest love languages, which is why she is so excited to connect with others through music on 90.TEEN. https://www.kexp.org/djs/90teen-djs/\n\n\"Originally conceived less as a traditional band, more a multimedia art collective (inspired by the Plastic Ono Band), THE THE were born out of the teenage Matt Johnson’s experiments with reel-to-reel tape – initially conducted in the basement of his parents’ pub, the Crown, in Loughton, Essex, and at De Wolfe Studios in London’s Soho, where Johnson worked as an apprentice sound engineer and used the downtime to make his own music.\"\n\nRead more of THE THE's biography here: \nhttps://www.thethe.com/about/", "location": 1, "location_name": "Default", "play_type": "trackplay" }
