That is if your rented Economy Sedan does not get stuck in a snow drift or buffalo steps into the road.  Your alarm goes off way too early for a vacation day. You throw on a playlist as you hazily navigate the same streets you drive everyday before getting on the highway and chewing up some mile. A little gospel seems fitting as you prepare to face temps with forecasted highs just reaching zero. Racing through some obscenely flat land some rock sets the tone as you only budgeted 1 day for the drive.  Roll into the Badlands as the sun begins to set and the hills (or mountains for a Midwesterner) make the drive worth the cramped legs and terrible gas station coffee. A little something funky seems fitting as you thank your parents for having pretty OK taste in music. Cheers you made it and no doubt your feeling good as hell when you get a beer and sandwich.
